Jr. High Youth Group

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH

Students in grades 9-12 meet with the kids from Grace Church at the home of Oliver Phillips (youth leader) on Thursday evenings 7-8:30pm. All are welcome, so bring some friends. Call the church office for directions

ICE CREAM SOCIAL: On Sunday, 9/9, at 4pm we will be hosting an ice cream social / classic car & motorcycle show in the church parking lot. Bring your favorite ice cream (home-made if possible), topping, car and/or motorcycle and a lawn chair. Bring a friend or neighbor. It’ll be fun for all ages!

September Sunday School Update

A new school year starts for the Sunday School classes this Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012. After a trial period this summer of having just three classes, the staff met and felt that it was best to keep students according to their school grade level for friendship and developmental areas. We saw that childhood development was a concern for the Kindergarten age students and that they work best with the Pre-School class. We took into account the number of teachers we have currently and decided on the following Sunday School sections for this year:

Pre-School = ages 3 through Kindergarten in the Pre-school room

Lower grades = grades 1-3 in the smaller classroom

Upper grades = grades 4-6 in the larger classroom

It is our desire to provide the best learning experience possible while permitting us to cover three classes each Sunday. Thank you for your support and if you still wish to volunteer to teach every 4-5 weeks, we can always use more staff.

God’s Clock of Ages

This is a course about your understanding of the Bible: A challenging course for those exploring the Word and for those with a strong grip on their knowledge of the Word. This course will be led by Pastor Tom

Kids Can Know God

Interactive classes which prepare you to reach children for Christ in Sunday School, Children’s Church, AWANA or your home.

Seminar will be offered Sept 14 6-9pm and Sept 15, 9am-4:30pm. Sign up forms are on the secretary’s desk by the back door.

The Thursday morning retirees' Bible study will begin a study of the Gospel of John on September 13. If interested, please contact the church office.

HOT DOG HANDOUTS!!!

Come and help us hand out hot dogs to our wonderful community at the local Parks & Rec Soccer games.

It’s easy and it’s fun!

We're having our own race here in Pagosa this year!!! We would love to have you join on Saturday, September 29th at Yamaguchi Park. This is a great community event in which churches in the area can join in a fun day of activity and raising awareness and support for orphans worldwide.

Doug & Deb Roberts have been making videos of our weekly sermons and then uploading them to YouTube every week. They will be needing some volunteers to film the talks and then either send them to us or edit and post them on YouTube later on this year.
