MESSENGER 3/1/12

NEW SERMON SERIES THIS WEEK:
“Jesus on Air” is a series designed to challenge each of us to make a life choice; stay where I am and who I am or to “press on toward the goal, the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” To get this prize we must strive to be like Christ; to live like Christ and to love as Christ loved. “Living like Christ in Real Time” is letting Jesus work, speak and love through you.

Senior High Youth

We will be meeting Sunday (5:15 - 6:45)
Be there!  Bring a friend!

Checks should be made payable to: BUMC (tax-deductible) or Neal Townsend (non-deductible) and dropped in the offering box or given to Neal or Anne. Thanks for your partnership!

“EQUIPPING THE SAINTS” BEGINS                            MARCH 21st  6-7:30 pm at PBC:
This series involves 3 separate classes that will take place on Wednesday evenings. These are designed to equip the believer to practically apply each class to life in real time. Each class deals with a topic that every believer should be practicing in their daily lives and study. Please pray about becoming a part of each opportunity.

Bill and Barbara Fair (InFaith, previously known as American Missionary Fellowship) encourage many people with the love of Jesus here in our church and community. They have traveled to Georgia to be with Barbara's family, as her dad's health is failing fast.

Please pray for:

1. Barbara and her family
2. Wisdom for decisions concerning her dad's care
3. Their ministry and relationships here, since their stay in GA may be extensive
4. Praise that they did arrive safely

Meetings are being held on Tuesdays, from 5:45 - 7:15pm for the 12-week session. Contact Marie Rascoe or Margaret Soniat, (Crossroad Church)for more information.

CARE: 2 families that CARE recently awarded adoption scholarships to, were able to bring home their "forever" children. A local family was also able to bring home their baby boy with the help of a CARE scholarship.

CARE4Nations: To date CARE4Nations has trained 10 widowed moms and 3 facilitators to manage a DIG program through their church. Currently we are training 12 people at Calvary Chapel, 6 of which are widowed moms. We’ve helped 10 widowed moms
directly with micro-financing, 6 widowed moms being indirectly helped through the moms’ ministry/businesses. These moms can now raise their children and orphans, giving them nutritious foods and education. 49 children have avoided the stigma of orphanages and stay in their families. This program continues to rely strongly on the Bible - focusing on scriptural principles with a relationship-based approach. As a family, we minister at two children's homes, holding abandoned babies and playing with severely physically/developmentally challenged children. Thanks for your prayers and support!

Lisa and Mark’s blog is: http://tiltingbalance.blogspot.com and the blog for CARE is http://carefamilies.blogspot.com. You can go there for more information and to learn more about these great ministries.

I am, once again, updating the church Directory of Family and Friends.  You have until April 1st to get me your correct information - PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME THAT I HAVE THE CORRECT INFORMATION - I don't.  I NEED YOUR FEEDBACK!!!!  After April 1st the directories will be printed with ONLY the information that you have given me.  This is in an effort to correct all the mistakes in the last one (we have had a miscommunication between computers and it is all a mess).
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP & COOPERATION IN THIS.
