Dear Family and Friends,
Happy 2011! We just got back from an incredible Christmas break trip…we went to PalangkaRaya (PLR), Kalimantan; our future home and place of ministry. We spent 15 days learning the ins and outs of life in PLR and what ministry is going to be awaiting us when we get there. It was an incredibly exciting trip and we feel very blessed that it was able to happen. One of the joys of the trip was actually being able to use our Indonesian outside of a school context and it really worked! Granted, there is still a LOT of room for improvement, but it was exciting to see how far we have come since arriving in Indonesia last August. Thank you to all of you who send us packages, cards, or emails for the Christmas season! It is always great to hear from people back home through any medium.
This coming Monday life will return back to normal with all of us starting school again. I will begin unit 5 (of 9) and Rebecca will begin unit 4. After seeing some of the language “gaps” from our trip to PLR we are motivated to try and fill them over the next few months. Hopefully, we can continue to lay a good language foundation for our remaining time here in Java.
A few praise and prayer points:
Praise:
• Our trip to PalangkaRaya. It was wonderful and refreshing.
• The joy of serving where God has us right now.
• For a healthy family.
Prayer:
• Continued language acquisition.
• To be a light to ALL men.
• For our teammates in PLR.
Happy New Year to all of you!
Blessings, Sean
