                                                Prayers :

Please pray for Tarah who lives in Shreveport, Louisiana. Her baby was born early July and Tarah has had complications since. She had gall bladder surgery three weeks ago and appendix surgery last week. Today the doctors are doing a procedure to check Tarah's esophagus.

Thank you,
Marie Rascoe

We are asking for prayers for Rex’s cousin’s daughter, Janna Nelson Kim. She is a wife and mother to two young children and lives in Garland, TX. She has been receiving chemo for cancer for months and was thought to be doing well. The cancer has recently spread and, after intensive chemo last week and a few days at home, she is now back in the hospital with a high fever and a zero white cell count.
Pray for God’s healing for her! And His comfort and love to be with her husband and children. Thankfully her parents are close by to care for the children and they have a wonderful church family!

Thanks,
Marlys Nelson

Sara's most recent update (11/17/2014):

28 weeks and 1 day!!!!!!!! And still cooking! We made it to the first really big milestone and all the doctors and nurses here are super happy. The next milestone is 30 weeks, so praying we can make it to December. I have had some bleeding come back and stay. They don't seem super excited about it and Hannah seems to not mind, so still praying that it clears up. We ran into the NICU doc that we talked with when we were admitted she was really surprised that Hannah hasn't come yet, praise God for good surprises and turning doctors heads!

Thanks for all of the prayers! Please continue to pray about the bleeding...

Pagosa Springs Prayers & Squares, Chapter 1157 is looking for people who love to sew or quilt in conjunction with prayer. Knowledge of sewing is not necessary; we can teach! Our group is a community of Christ followers. We believe that we operate as the “hands and feet of Jesus” with our common faith that our God hears and answers prayer.
The purpose of Prayers & Squares is not to make and distribute quilts, but to promote prayer through the use of quilts. Our motto is: "It's not about the quilt; it's all about the prayers."  The idea behind these prayer quilts is simple. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with square knot. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is said for someone in special need, who then receives the finished quilt. Through Prayers & Squares many quilts have been distributed, each a special gift of love. They have been made for sick babies, for cancer patients, for adults and children facing surgery or personal crisis; for many reasons, but each for someone in special need of prayer.” (http://www.prayerquilt.org/).

MISSIONS UPDATES

INDONESIA   - Cannon Family

Dear Friends and Family,
It is hard to believe that our furlough time in the United States is coming to a close. By the time you receive this letter, we will have arrived in Indonesia for our third (3.5 year) term as MAF missionaries and our second term in Indonesia. Our departure date is September 19. We have had an amazing time of refreshment, rest, and reconnection with loved ones. Our Indonesian work visas came in about a month later than we were hoping for, but the extra weeks have been so precious as we’ve had a few extra moments to spend with family and to check a few more things off our furlough bucket list. Much to our delight, we have even been blessed to see a little fall weather begin to arrive in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. We may or may not have had to make a few special trips to a certain coffee shop for Pumpkin Spice Lattes—a treat we often try to conjure up in the heat of Borneo, as we try to remember what autumn feels like back in our home state!

Thank you to the many churches and individuals who have blessed us with your time, gifts, prayers, and friendship. You ministered to us so well and we return to Indonesia encouraged and energized for the work and ministry God has for us there.
Love,

Sean, Rebecca, Brooklyn, Madison, and Paige

      AFRICA - The Hauger Family

Hjambo sana from the Haugers!

It’s a balmy Thanksgiving in Kenya.  During this season of gratefulness and good will, we celebrate the gifts of God, especially Jesus - a living Gift, destined to change lives for eternity. At this time, we want to appreciate your partnership. Your prayers and gifts have enabled us to share Jesus with those who are among the least.  By interweaving discipleship, practical ministry and evangelism, lives are transformed. Truly, you have helped us be His hands and feet…
  • Orphan Prevention: Widowed/single mamas have support, discipleship classes, skills training and micro finance so they can raise their children and contribute to their communities. 14 run businesses, 13 are working as a group on income-generating projects, 3 more have just joined us.  All are equipped to share the gospel and reach out with Jesus' love.
  • Clean water is accessible with sanitation teaching - a great evangelistic outreach in both Kisumu town and Kajulu village - 9 working filters providing safe water and offering Living Water.
  • Orphaned/vulnerable children experience God’s love through teaching, playing and praying. Most neglected kiddos at Joyland School for the Disabled have never owned Bibles but are learning they are worth more than rubies in God's kingdom.
Please consider continuing your support this coming year.  A one time gift or monthly donation can be designated towards projects mentioned above or our personal support - assisting us in meeting demands of serving cross-culturally. Two specific needs are…
(Any amount is highly appreciated and tax-deductible)

  • A larger vehicle for our growing family that will also serve the ministry. $3,000 plus selling our car can put us in a reliable vehicle.
  • Travel home this summer with family so Lil’ Man so he can receive a necessary medical evaluation. $3,000 more needed.
Asante sana for your kindness in remembering us and the ministry to those among the least in Kenya.  Phil 4:17.
hugs from the haugers Ooo0o
