Pagosa Bible Church will be participating with Mountain Heights Baptist Church and other churches in an entry in the parade on July 3 at 10am.
The entry will be simple in nature, with a leading banner reading "UNITED WE STAND". The names of the participating churches would also be on this banner. Another banner "ONE NATION UNDER GOD" would be at the rear, with people in between walking, riding 4 wheelers or bicycles. Provided there are enough volunteers, I would also like to have some additional signs (IN GOD WE TRUST, FREE TO WORSHIP, FREE TO CHOOSE LIFE, JESUS CHRIST - AUTHOR OF FREEDOM) either carried by walkers or attached to 4 wheelers. Candy crosses have been ordered for which we will attach a scripture verse, John 8:36 "SO IF THE SON SETS YOU FREE, YOU ARE FREE INDEED". Participating churches may also feel free to pass out any item such as candy, water, tracts, etc. with or without information relative to their own address, hours of worship, etc. However, the main focus is not to promote a particular church but to promote our God and our resolve to stand together as a body of believers to remind the spectators that we are a Christian nation and a Christian community.
This is not a request for monetary support. It is simply an invitation for your congregation to participate in making a stand with us by walking, riding in the parade, or by volunteering to help attach scriptures to the candy or make posters. Youth are welcome. If there are enough volunteers and some are not able to walk the entire route, we may even be able to relay it.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Linda Muirhead ASAP.
