I have a close friend who doesn’t know the Lord yet. When I brought him to church for the first time years ago the topic was on giving. His first reaction was, “That’s all Christians want is money”. It’s sad that people think that. The reality is that we teach about giving not because we are money hungry, but because God wants all of us. So often giving comes between us and God. We say that we’ll give everything to the Lord but not what we hold dear, our time and finances.
Faith/Promise was a joy and success. Not because of the wonderful response but because of the surrendering of those things that were coming between us and the Lord. The Lord is pleased when we are dependant on Him and living in faith. The Lord is working in lives and in the church as a whole. I am thankful to be a part of a church who loves Christ and isn’t ashamed to proclaim that love through obedience and faith.
